Jan 13, 2009, 8pm at Scullers Jazz Club: All That Jazz: The Best of Broadway

The Follen Angels are back at Scullers Jazz Club! We make our 6th return to Scullers with our new production of Broadway show-stoppers.

We carefully chose the best songs from some of the most beloved Broadway shows: Mame, Chicago, Gypsy, South Pacific, Damn Yankees, and many more.

Joining the Angels are award-winning Boston musical theater and cabaret artist Brian De Loreonzo, who has a strikingly beautiful tenor voice, and Jeanne LaForgia, whose soprno voice is pure and sparkling. Jeanne performed and recorded as a member of the Follen Angels for several of the erly years of the early group. This show promises to be a spectacular reunion for us.

In addition, Brad Hallen (on acoustic bass) rounds out this exceptional group of musicians.

We Angels perform our favorite Broadway such as Some People (Gypsy), I Have Dreamed(The King and I), Bosom Buddies (Mame), Suddenly Seymour (Little Shop of Horrors), Fugue for Tinhorns (Guys and Dolls), Three Friends (Closer Than Ever) with exciting arrangements that enhance the already great melodies and smart lyrics.

This is a hot show, guaranteed to keep you warm on a cold winter evening.

Don't miss it!

(Click the picture to see the enlarged image)

The Follen Angels, international jazz and cabaret artists perform their captivating show, “Tunes of Gershwin, Cole Porter and Friends”. This Angels’ show was a big hit at Scullers Jazz Club as well as on their recent appearance at Mechanics Hall in Worcester with simulcast on WICN radio. As Cole Porter said, “I like a Gershwin tune, how about you?” The Angels’ audiences throughout New England enthusiastically agree.

The Follen Angels will fill the air with incomparable melodies and sophisticated lyrics that will transport you back to a time of white pianos, tuxedos and backless satin evening gowns and champagne. Some favorite songs are I got Rhythm, Lady Be Good, My Heart Belongs to Daddy, Night and Day, What is this Thing Called Love, Embraceable You, The Man I Love, I Love Paris, and many more. So, join Hildy Grossman on vocals, Rieko Tanaka on piano and vocals, Ken Dantzig on drums, Rick Stone on sax/clarinet and Nicholas Thibault on bass for music that is as timeless as it is elegant. We guarantee you will have a smile on your face and be humming a tune for the rest of the day. Don’t miss this magical show at the charming Marblehead Little Theatre.
